Dr. Jan Schone's Path to Functional Medicine

Jan Schone came to chiropractic through both discipline and curiosity. A four-year letter winner on the swim team at the University of Tampa, she understood from an early age how much the body’s internal environment affects performance and recovery. She earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Palmer College in 2004 and has spent her career expanding well beyond the adjustment table.
Her functional medicine focus grew from recognizing a pattern in practice: patients whose pain and physical symptoms were being driven by things happening internally – thyroid dysfunction, hormone imbalances, gut issues – that no amount of chiropractic adjusting was going to fix on its own. That realization led her to pursue deep training in functional medicine, and today it’s a significant part of what she offers at the Westerville office.

What Dr. Jan Schone Specializes In

Functional Medicine

A root-cause approach to chronic health issues that goes beyond pain relief. Dr. Schone uses specialized testing and targeted protocols to identify and address what’s actually driving the problem.

Thyroid Disorders and Hashimoto's Disease

One of her primary areas of focus. Many patients with thyroid issues have been told their labs are “normal” while still feeling unwell. Dr. Schone digs deeper.

Hormone Health and Women's Wellness

Hormonal imbalances affect energy, mood, weight, and overall function. Dr. Schone works with women at all stages of life on issues that conventional medicine often underprioritizes.

Digestive Disorders

Gut health has far-reaching effects on the rest of the body. Dr. Schone’s approach addresses the underlying dysfunction rather than just managing symptoms.
